Ripples Placemats
This is my favourite placemat so far, for sure. It is constructed with honeycomb stitch (Tunisian crochet, grab your 4mm double-ended hook) alternating with bands of "ripples stitch", which is just long double crochet fans interlocking to create a beautiful texture and undulating edges. These were inspired by the rippling water and wavy lines on the sandbars on the north shore of Nova Scotia. One set of instructions are given, but finished measurements are given for 3 slightly different cotton weights (heavy fingering, light sport, and sport) so you can choose based on the size you want, or the yarn you have. As usual everything is explained with photos and instructional videos. For a preview of the pattern, check out the Youtube tutorial.
