Star-Edged Hand Towels
These handtowels are made with Tunisian crochet with a regular crochet border. They are simple and fun to make, and are a great way to learn or practice star stitch and Tunisian honeycomb stitch. You will need a Tunisian hook, a regular crochet hook, and any 100% cotton yarn you like as long as it is soft and durable; the pattern gives detailed instructions for 4 different yarn weights (heavy worsted, light worsted, sport, light sport) and suggested examples of each. My favourite yarn to use for this project is probably Dishie from Wecrochet, as it works up quickly but isn't too bulky, and remains soft after repeated washings. The pattern has photos to help you if you are a beginner to these stitches, as well as links to instructional videos that demonstrate all of the techniques in detail.
